Tapping Into a Good Story - Interview with Lauren Finger, writer/editor/columnist
Lauren Finger is completing her Master of Arts in Creative Writing. As an editor at Allen & Unwin book publishers, a columnist for Arts Hub Australia and a previous editor of the UTS Writers' Anthology, Lauren is an accomplished writer and reader.
Her short story, Storm in a Coffee Mug was featured in this year's Anthology. Despite her tendency to spend 'far too much time thinking', it is the challenge of writing that has led Lauren to pursue her love of telling stories.

The Celluloid Suburbs - Interview with Matt Reeder, producer of West
At 31, Media, Arts and Production graduate and producer Matt Reeder is in a good place. Earlier this year, his debut feature film West had its world premiere at the Berlin Film Festival and although his entry into the world of film began at acting, Matt has since acquired a smart sack of award-winning short films under his belt (such as New Skin and Sweet Dreams). Currently toiling on two feature film scripts - one a love story and the other a political thriller - Matt has excelled with flying colours at something, he says, he simply 'fell into'.

Social Inquiry student Matt Rochford about his time at Nerds FC
What defines a 'nerd'? The ability to memorise over 400 decimal places of the number pi? An unbridled enthusiasm for anime conventions? Or perhaps someone who thinks about the interstices of seemingly mundane or irrelevant things, like white noise, or text messages. As a lover of the latter pair, it is fitting then, that Social Enquiry student Matt Rochford heard about auditions for the second series of SBS' reality television show 'Nerds FC', through SMS.
