About the process
The anthology process starts with the writers. At the end of the second semester of the year, around the start of December all UTS staff and students are invited to submit their writing.

All creative writing is accepted, short stories, chapter excerpts from longer pieces, non-fiction eg. Biographical sketches and travel writing, poetry, screenwriting (whether for film, television, radio or theatre) and so on.
At the same time, students are invited to apply to be part of the anthology committee.
Being a committee member includes diverse tasks such as:
- Every committee member is reading every single submitted piece.
- Choosing a short-list of pieces to go into the anthology: Every piece is discussed and a short list is created. From this shortlist the final selection is made, pending publishing approval.
- Contacting each successful writers: Each editor works one on one with a few writers, workshopping and editing the pieces as thoroughly as possible. The workshopping process can be very intense or minimal depending on the work submitted. In every case the strengths and weaknesses are discussed by the editors, and the writers' opinions are always taken into account.
- Copyediting: Every t must be crossed, every i dotted, and all the commas slotted into place. Missing words suddenly come to light and are typed in.
- Choosing the name and a cover concept for the anthology: The Editorial Committee work out the theme of the anthology and a cover design and title that will best fit the anthology.
- Publicity: Organising the publicity for the anthology
