'Picture This' is an abstract poetic travelogue that takes the viewer on a sensory and imaginative journey from giant shopping malls to endless landscapes of clouds. Animated poetic text and voiceover is paired with cinematic visual imagery in split-screen panels to create lyrical video 'postcards'. 'Picture This' forms fragmentary ‘polaroids in motion’ that explore the relationship between text and image and call upon the viewer to extend their visual imagination. Questioning the link between what is spoken and what is seen, oscillating between literal and oblique connections, 'Picture This' disrupts the dichotomy of signifier and signified to unlock an alternative perspective of seeing the world.
