New media and computer facilities
The Faculty's computing facilities are specialised limited access laboratories in the Bon Marche Building (Building 3). Students enrolled in Communication subjects have access to the laboratory most relevant to their production needs, enabling them to conduct:
- online research
- multimedia authoring
- website production
- scanning and image manipulation
- desktop publishing
- compositing and video editing
- audio editing
As with all Media Centre facilities, the Communication computer labs are used for specialised production and are not all-purpose computer laboratories. For general activities such as email, word processing and printing, students use the Information Technology Division Computer Laboratories located throughout the UTS campus which are accessible to all current UTS students.
For any hardware problems, please call the Information Technology Support Centre (ITSC) helpdesk on ext. 2222.
For assistance using software applications you should contact the in-class support staff or the lecturer of the related subject.
