Film and video studio
The Film and Video area of the Media Centre provides teaching and learning in the contexts of workshops and classroom support. A structured program of workshops in all aspects of film and video production is offered to complement the various production subjects.
Sound Stages
Studio "A" - Studio floor and the Control Room, 3 x Pedestal cameras, lighting grid.
Record to: High band U-matic, S-VHS.
Floor and Control Rooms may be booked separately.
Edit Suites - Film
16mm Film Edit suite - 4 plate Steenbeck Flatbed, trim bins, gang synch and/or pic - synch etc - 6 plate Schmidt.
Screening and Transfer Room 16mm, Oxberry animation camera, optical printer.
AVID Digital Edit suites
5x AVID Xpress Deluxe digital edit suites, 2 are Digitising/Layback
Rooms: source & record machines: DVCAM, MiniDV, S-VHS, TimecodeDAT
Who can use these facilities?
Students enrolled in particular Media Production subjects in the Faculty have access to certain facilities. The Film and Video Area facilities may also be available for external hire.
