Audio facilities
The audio facilities at UTS include three Pro Tools HD 7 control rooms, equipped to specialise in Music/Audio Arts, Post-Production and Surround Mixing, housed around a shared recording floor and separate booth.
In addition, there are six digital audio workstations in separate suites, a radio broadcast studio and a Pro Tools equipped lecture room.
All UTS studios and production rooms are equipped with the latest version of Pro Tools software. Versions may have been up-dated since time of publishing.
Control Room 1
Equipped with Pro Tools HD|2 Accel, Control|24, 192 I/O, Sync I/O, MOTU MidiTP, Drawmer 1969 mic pre/comp, AVID Mojo, ATC SCM 20 stereo monitoring.
Control Room 2
Equipped with Pro Tools HD|3, Control|24, 192 I/O, Sync I/O, AVID Mojo, , Genelec 5.1 monitoring.
Control Room 3
Equipped with Pro Tools HD|2 Accel, Pro Control, 96 I/O, Sync I/O, midi I/O, AVID Mojo, Digidesign PRE, Genelec 5.1 monitoring.
Studio Floor and Vocal Booth
Large studio floor space and smaller booth with multiple microphone and foldback break out points with links to all controls rooms. Used for Foley/ADR (picture feed available to both rooms), voice and acoustic instrument recording.

Pro Tools Workstations
Each station contains a Macintosh G5 (with internal DVD burner) and Digi002 running Pro Tools 7 LE with DV Toolkit 2, Logic Pro 7, DAT machine, CD player and minidisc. Open reel and cassette and turnatables are available.
Large classroom equipped with G5 iMacs and Mbox II systems, projection and 5.1 sound with all audio/video playback standards.

Who can use these facilities?
Students must be enrolled in the relevant production subjects for access to audio facilities or they should lodge an application for the use of the audio facilities with the Associate Dean (Teaching & Learning).
Professional training and certification in Pro Tools
UTS is an authorised Digidesign Pro School. UTS Pro School offers professionals and aspiring professionals alike the opportunity to gain expertise and certification in using Digidesign Pro Tools - the most widely supported audio technology in the industry.
